24/7 HR Advice Line
HR emergencies do not wait for office hours. Our round-the-clock advice line connects you directly with a qualified HR professional — day, night, weekends, and bank holidays — so you are never left to handle a crisis alone.
Expert Advice Whenever You Need It
Our advice line is not an automated menu or an outsourced call centre. Every call is answered by a qualified HR professional who can give you clear, actionable guidance on the spot.
24/7 Telephone Support
Call any time of day or night, 365 days a year. Whether it is a Sunday evening dismissal query or a bank holiday absence issue, you will speak to a real person who can help. Average answer time is under 30 seconds, with no call queues or lengthy hold music.
Same-Day Email Response
For non-urgent queries, email our team and receive a detailed, written response within the same working day. Written advice is particularly useful when you need a documented record of the guidance you have received to support your decision-making.
Urgent Issue Escalation
When a situation requires immediate senior input — such as a gross misconduct incident, a serious workplace accident, or a potential tribunal claim — we escalate the matter to a senior consultant or employment law specialist within the hour.
Document Review
Need a second pair of eyes on a dismissal letter, a settlement agreement, or a policy update? Send it through and our team will review it and flag any issues. We check for legal accuracy, tone, and consistency with your existing documentation.
Case Tracking
Every call and email is logged against your account so there is a complete audit trail of all advice given. If you call back about the same matter, whoever answers can see the full history and continue seamlessly. This ensures consistency and protects you if the advice is ever questioned.
The Wrong Decision in the Moment Can Cost Thousands
HR crises rarely happen at convenient times. An employee no-shows on a Saturday shift. A manager witnesses potential gross misconduct on a Friday evening. A worker hands in a grievance letter just as you are locking up. In these moments, the decisions you make — or fail to make — can have lasting legal and financial consequences.
Having immediate access to qualified advice means you never have to guess. You can act quickly and confidently, knowing that the steps you are taking are legally sound. It is the difference between a well-managed situation and a tribunal claim.
- Immediate access to qualified professionals, not automated systems
- Reduced risk of knee-jerk decisions that lead to tribunal claims
- Complete audit trail of all advice for legal protection
- Peace of mind for managers who deal with people issues outside office hours
- Faster resolution of issues before they escalate into formal disputes
Common Questions
Who actually answers the calls?
Every call is answered by a qualified HR professional with a minimum of CIPD Level 5 and significant practical experience in UK employment law and people management. During core business hours, you may speak to your dedicated consultant directly. Outside of hours, our specialist out-of-hours team provides the same level of expertise. There are no call handlers or script readers — only experienced professionals who can give you actionable advice immediately.
What counts as an urgent issue?
Urgent issues include any situation requiring an immediate employer response, such as suspected gross misconduct, workplace violence or threats, serious health and safety incidents, an employee walking out, suspicion of fraud or theft, receipt of a tribunal claim form, or any situation where a wrong step could lead to significant legal exposure. When you call, simply let us know the matter is urgent and we will prioritise it accordingly.
Is there a limit on the number of calls I can make?
No. Our advice line is included within your monthly retainer at no additional cost, and there is no cap on the number of calls or emails you can make. We actively encourage clients to call early and often — it is always better to seek advice before taking action than to try to fix a problem after the fact. We would rather you call us ten times a day than make one costly mistake.
What are your response time guarantees?
Telephone calls are answered within 30 seconds on average. Emails receive a substantive response within the same working day, and most are answered within four hours. Urgent escalations to senior consultants or employment law specialists are actioned within one hour. These are not aspirational targets — they are contractual commitments that we measure and report on monthly.
What topics can I call about?
You can call about any people-related matter. Common topics include disciplinary and grievance queries, absence management, redundancy and restructuring, flexible working requests, maternity and paternity rights, contract interpretation, performance management, TUPE transfers, recruitment questions, and general employment law queries. If we cannot answer a question immediately, we will research it and call you back within an agreed timeframe.
